We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people traditional owners of Country in of Central NSW and their elders both past and present. In the Wiradjuri language the laughing Kookaburra is called a Gugubarra (pronounced Gu-Gu-Ba-Ra)
Laughing Kookaburras are well known for their laughs sounding like this ‘Koo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-haa-haa-haa-haa‘, but that laugh is actually a warning to other kookaburras to stay out of their territory.
Being territorial Kookaburras often stay in the same area with their families for several years. They mate for life and build their nests in tree hollows and termite mounds.
Kian sits at 9cm long and 7cm tall. VOC free tints and sustainably sourced maple wood.
